Match the backdrop’s light to the photo’s
The presets are lit from the top centre. If your face was lit from the side, use the flatter Grey or Light backdrop; Dark and Emerald, with their strong vignette, exaggerate a lighting mismatch.
Headshots: Grey or Light. Products: Warm or Dark.
Corporate headshots suit Grey; e-commerce lifestyle shots suit Warm; jewellery, watches and bottles look expensive on Dark. Sky is the one that reads as outdoors, for real-estate and lifestyle photos.
Feet need a floor
Full-length shots float without a contact point. Turn the shadow on so the feet touch something. For half-body portraits and products, a short, soft shadow is enough.
Keep the framing loose
